About Us

Hello and Welcome.

I'm Sensei Simon Crowther, 4th Dan, and I am the founder and chief instructor of Musuko Karate Academy.

We offer a safe, friendly and disciplined environment to learn the traditional Japanese martial art of Shotokan karate and provide excellent tuition to students of all ages.

We are directly affiliated to the English Karate Federation giving students the opportunity to attend fantastic seminars as well as having the prospect to compete Nationally and Internationally at top level competitions and participate in trials for the E.K.F  tournament ‘A’ squad.

Musuko Karate Academy is a family club at heart, with a mixture of both male and female students that range from 4 years of age to adult.

We are very traditional in our teaching methods, with a strong emphasis being on kihon/basics, as this is the area I believe is key to a good student.

All our instructors are DBS checked, first aid trained and are fully insured.

​All classes are fun, structured and disciplined. One of the most important things we pride ourselves on is the development and progression of students. We are so passionate about our karate; our mission statement is  to inspire - to learn - to achieve.
