On Sunday 29th April two of our elite squad members - Brandon Crowther and Danni Williams, travelled to Yorkshire for trial selections for the English Karate Federation Youth Kata 'A' Squad and selections to officially represent England abroad in 2018.
After what was a very tense four hour selection process we are absolutely delighted as a club to announce that Brandon and Danni were both selected for the E.K.F 'A' squad - but their afternoon's success didn't stop there - not only were they both then chosen to represent England individually in their respective kata categories but were also each selected as one of three team members for both male and female team kata in their appropriate category age groups!
They are now both eagerly awaiting the competition which takes place in Helsinki in mid August and are already no doubt training hard with this tournament in mind.
This is a fantastic achievement for these two brilliant young athletes and Chief Instructor Sensei Simon Crowther couldn't be more proud of them both!
We very much look forward as a club to watching them prepare for the competition and we know every one of our students and families will be supporting them all the way when the time comes.
Congratulations Brandon and Danni - we wish you every luck with your future karate journeys and we know you will both be awesome in Helsinki!
