On Thursday 16th August 2018 two of our super talented elite squad members flew out to Finland to compete as part of the EKF Youth Squad Team and to represent England in the Helsinki Open Championships on Saturday 18th August.
Brandon Crowther and Danni Williams both aged 13, were chosen to represent their country in both individual and team kata in their respective categories.
After a brilliant and very positive training session on the Friday afternoon both Brandon, Danni and the rest of the EKF Youth Squad were very excited but fully prepared for the tournament the next day.
On the morning of the comp they all travelled to the arena together as one whole team and all looked extremely smart in their England tracksuits. The whole squad were very keen and eager to get on the tatami and perform their kata's, and the strong bond and suppport they had with each other was brilliant to see.
After some really strong opposition in his individual rounds we are delighted to announce that Brandon achieved a Silver medal in the Boys U14 Individual Kata and a Gold medal with his team mates in the Boys U14 Team Kata category.
Danni also had some really tough oppostion to contend with in the Girls U14 individual rounds and sadly narrowly missed out on a bronze medal in repercharge. However, Danni then came back stronger and more determined than ever with her team mates in Girls U14 team kata to secure the Gold medal postition - an amazing result!
Musuko Karate Academy are very proud of these two brilliant young athletes and we're sure there will be many more successes coming their way in the future as they continue to stride forward on the competitive circuit.
Huge Congratulations to them both!
